Thousands Gather in Karbala as Coffin of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Arrives for Funeral Procession

Thousands of mourners gathered at the shrine of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq, on Wednesday to take part in the funeral procession of martyred Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The arrival of his coffin in Karbala drew large crowds, with people paying their final respects amid an atmosphere of deep mourning.

The coffin was brought to the revered shrine, where mourners from Iraq, Iran, and other countries gathered to offer prayers and participate in the funeral procession. Many waved flags, recited religious slogans, and expressed their grief as the coffin was carried through the holy city.

The funeral in Karbala is part of a series of mourning ceremonies being held in honor of Ayatollah Khamenei following his martyrdom. The holy city holds great religious significance for Shia Muslims, making it a central location for the commemorative events.

Security was tightened across Karbala as thousands attended the procession. The ceremonies are expected to continue with further religious gatherings as mourners pay tribute to the late Iranian leader.
