Iran has officially begun the week-long funeral ceremonies for former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, with events scheduled to continue from July 3 to July 9. The ceremonies are expected to attract large crowds of mourners from across the country, along with high-level delegations from several nations paying their respects.
According to officials, Ayatollah Khamenei’s coffin was brought to Tehran on July 3, where thousands of people gathered to bid a final farewell. The funeral events will continue throughout the week, with religious ceremonies and official tributes taking place at various locations.
Several international delegations are expected to attend the ceremonies. Pakistan is also expected to be represented by a senior delegation led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while officials and dignitaries from other countries are set to participate in the funeral proceedings.
