Muharram 1448 Begins: Millions Around the World Mourn Imam Hussain (AS) and Renew the Call of “Labbaik Ya Hussain”

Muharram 1448 AH has begun, marking the start of one of the most significant and sacred months in the Islamic calendar. The month is a time of remembrance, reflection, and mourning as millions of Muslims around the world honor the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS), his family members, and loyal companions who were martyred in the Battle of Karbala.

With the arrival of Muharram, black flags have been raised in many countries, symbolizing grief and respect for the martyrs of Karbala. In Iraq, the holy sites of Karbala, particularly Bain ul Haramain, have been illuminated with red lights, representing sorrow, sacrifice, and the continued remembrance of Imam Hussain’s (AS) mission. Thousands of pilgrims have already gathered at the sacred shrines, while millions more are expected to participate in religious gatherings and mourning processions throughout the month.

The powerful call of “Labbaik Ya Hussain” is once again echoing across cities, towns, and communities worldwide. Believers are coming together to pay tribute to the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), whose stand against injustice remains a symbol of courage, faith, and sacrifice. Religious scholars and speakers are highlighting the lessons of Karbala, emphasizing the values of truth, justice, patience, and steadfastness in the face of oppression.

As Muharram begins, Muslims across the globe are engaging in prayers, majalis, processions, and acts of charity to honor the memory of Imam Hussain (AS). The message of Karbala continues to inspire people of all backgrounds, reminding humanity of the importance of standing for righteousness and preserving moral values. The sacred month serves as a powerful reminder of a sacrifice that continues to unite millions in devotion, grief, and remembrance more than thirteen centuries later.
