An Iranian delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Friday, according to a statement by Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi. The visit comes at a time of heightened diplomatic activity in the region, with Pakistan playing a key role in facilitating dialogue.

Upon arrival, Araghchi was received by senior Pakistani leadership, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, along with other high-ranking officials. The reception reflects the importance Pakistan places on its bilateral relations with Iran and ongoing regional engagement.
Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are also expected to visit Pakistan for discussions related to Iran. The development indicates a broader diplomatic effort involving multiple stakeholders amid ongoing regional tensions.
However, Iranian authorities have made it clear that they do not plan to hold direct talks with the United States during this visit. Despite the presence of US officials in Pakistan, Iran has reiterated its position, signaling that any engagement will remain limited to its existing diplomatic framework.
The visit highlights Pakistan’s role as a key diplomatic platform in the region, as it continues to host important discussions involving major international players. Observers say the coming days could be significant in shaping future diplomatic and strategic developments.
