US President Donald Trump has downplayed Iran’s recent attacks on three American warships, calling the incident “a trifle” and insisting that the ceasefire between the two countries remains in place.
Speaking during a visit to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, Trump was asked by reporters whether the ceasefire with Iran was still active despite the reported attacks. In response, he said the situation was under control and described Iran’s actions as minor.
Trump stated that Iran had “trifled” with the United States, adding that American forces responded strongly to the attacks. He emphasized that he still considers the ceasefire effective and does not see the latest incident as a major escalation in tensions.
The remarks come amid ongoing concerns over relations between the United States and Iran, as military developments in the region continue to attract international attention.
