Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has spoken out strongly against the recent acid attack incident in Quetta, expressing concern over the way society often rushes to judge female victims instead of focusing on the perpetrators of such crimes.
In a statement shared on social media, Momina questioned the tendency of people to blame women based on assumptions about their character, relationships, or personal choices. She stressed that even if a woman is involved in a relationship or makes mistakes in her personal life, it can never justify violence, harassment, rape, or an acid attack. According to her, no individual has the right to punish another person or take the law into their own hands.
The actress highlighted how public opinion frequently forms before any investigation is completed, with many people acting as judge and jury without knowing the full facts of a case. She criticized those who immediately target women with accusations and harsh judgments despite having no evidence or firsthand knowledge of what actually happened.
Momina further stated that such attitudes destroy lives and make it even more difficult for victims to seek justice. She urged people to wait for facts to emerge and allow the legal system to determine responsibility rather than relying on speculation and social media narratives.
Addressing her own ongoing harassment case, Momina said she would not be intimidated by criticism or online attacks. She vowed to continue her legal battle and seek justice through the courts, adding that she remains determined to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
Her remarks have sparked discussion on social media, with many users supporting her call for greater empathy toward victims of violence and a more responsible approach to discussing sensitive cases in the public sphere.
