Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Receives Guard of Honour During Official Visit to Pakistan

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was accorded a guard of honour at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Tuesday as he arrived in Pakistan on an official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The ceremonial welcome highlighted the close diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Iran. President Pezeshkian was received by Pakistani officials upon his arrival in the federal capital, where he is expected to hold discussions on bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

Earlier in the day, President Pezeshkian and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Pakistan aboard separate flights. President Pezeshkian travelled directly from Iran to Islamabad, while Foreign Minister Araghchi arrived after concluding his engagements in Oman.

The visit is expected to focus on strengthening cooperation between the two neighbouring countries in areas including trade, regional security, economic collaboration, and diplomatic relations. The leaders are also likely to exchange views on regional developments and explore ways to further enhance bilateral ties.

Pakistan and Iran share longstanding political, economic, and cultural relations, and high-level exchanges between the two countries are seen as important for promoting regional stability and cooperation.
