Tensions in the Gulf region escalated after Iran reportedly launched a ballistic missile toward Ali Al-Salam Air Base in Kuwait. The development comes amid growing security concerns and rising hostilities in the region.
According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the missile strike was carried out in response to what it described as an attack on a telecommunications tower near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials claimed the action was part of a retaliatory operation linked to recent incidents in the area.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s armed forces stated that the country’s air defense systems were actively engaged in intercepting hostile missiles and drones. Authorities said defensive measures were immediately put in place to protect national security and key installations.
The incident has raised fears of a wider regional conflict, as the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important maritime routes for global oil and energy supplies. Regional and international observers are closely monitoring the situation as tensions continue to develop.
