Cyber Crime Agency Takes Action After Momina Iqbal Accuses Saqib Chadhar of Threats, Calls Him for Investigation

LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Punjab has officially launched legal proceedings in a case involving alleged online harassment and cyberbullying against actress and model Momina Iqbal. Authorities have issued summons to PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar, his wife Sameera Khan, and Momina Iqbal as part of the investigation.

The case gained attention after Momina Iqbal shared details on social media about what she described as a long period of online abuse, cyberbullying, mental stress, and death threats aimed at both her and her family. She claimed that the situation seriously affected her personal life and mental well-being.

According to the actress, she had previously submitted complaints to the FIA and Punjab Police, but alleged that her concerns were ignored due to political pressure from people connected to the Chief Minister’s Office. However, after the matter received widespread attention online, authorities reportedly moved quickly to address the issue.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz later directed officials to conduct a transparent investigation into the case. NCCIA Punjab Head Muhammad Ali Waseem confirmed that legal notices had been issued and assured that a digital forensic investigation would be carried out fairly and strictly on merit, without any political influence.

Officials also stated that the investigation aims to ensure accountability and provide protection to the affected family while examining all allegations related to harassment and threats.
