Heavy Security in Place as Iran Prepare for World Cup Opener Against New Zealand in Los Angeles

Security measures were significantly increased around SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Monday as preparations continued for Iran’s opening FIFA World Cup match against New Zealand.

Authorities maintained a strong presence in and around the venue, with several nearby roads closed and police officers patrolling the area hours before kickoff.

The heightened security came a day after a peace agreement between Iran and the United States was announced, drawing additional attention to the match and prompting officials to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of players, staff, and supporters attending the event.

Meanwhile, the Iranian national team arrived in Los Angeles following a short flight from Tijuana, Mexico, where they had been based during their pre-tournament preparations. The squad received an enthusiastic farewell from fans before departing for their first World Cup fixture.

Iran will be aiming to make a strong start to their campaign against New Zealand, with supporters eagerly awaiting the team’s performance on football’s biggest stage. The match is expected to attract significant interest from fans around the world as the tournament gets underway.
