Lahore Qalandars Celebrate Sikandar Raza’s Birthday With Team Cake-Cutting Ceremony

Lahore Qalandars celebrated the birthday of Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza with a heartfelt message on their official social media platforms.

Sikandar Raza was born on April 24, 1986, in Sialkot, Pakistan. He turned 40 this year. He moved to Zimbabwe with his family in 2002 and went on to represent Zimbabwe at the international level. A powerful middle-order batter and handy off-spinner, Raza made his international debut in 2013 and has since become one of Zimbabwe’s most reliable cricketers.

Raza joined Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2023 and immediately made an impact. He played a key role in Qalandars’ title-winning campaign in PSL 8, scoring crucial runs in the middle order and delivering important overs with the ball. His calm presence under pressure and ability to finish games earned him praise from fans and management.

In PSL history, Raza has scored 408 runs for Lahore Qalandars at a strike rate of 168.59 and taken 11 wickets, proving his value as a genuine all-rounder. His performances include several match-winning knocks, including a memorable 71* off 34 balls against Islamabad United in 2023.

Despite playing for Zimbabwe, Raza’s Pakistani roots make him especially popular with local fans. Lahore Qalandars often highlight his connection to Pakistan, and he has spoken about how playing in the PSL feels like coming home. The franchise refers to him as their “one and only,” reflecting his unique status in the squad.

Supporters flooded the birthday post with wishes, calling him a “true Qalandar” and a “match-winner.” One fan commented, “celebrated boys tomorrow is your last…” pointing to the team’s busy schedule ahead of HBL PSL 11.

The birthday post reinforces Lahore Qalandars’ reputation for strong team culture and player bonding. By celebrating personal milestones, the franchise continues to build unity and keep fans engaged before the new season.
