Pakistani filmmaker Syed Noor has openly shared his disappointment over casting Jannat Mirza in a film project, saying the decision turned out to be a major mistake.
Speaking during the morning show Rise and Shine, the veteran director said that despite the team’s hard work and efforts, the film failed to attract audiences to cinemas.
Syed Noor explained that social media fame does not always guarantee success on the big screen. According to him, many people believe that if they already watch a celebrity daily on platforms like TikTok, they do not feel the need to buy a cinema ticket just to see the same personality in a movie.
He further said that the film industry has changed significantly over the years. In the past, films had a special charm, and audiences would eagerly wait for movies starring their favorite actors. However, he believes that times have changed and the excitement surrounding cinema is no longer the same as it once was.
The director’s comments have sparked discussion online, with many social media users debating whether digital popularity can truly translate into box office success.
