Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab visited the injured victims at the hospital after a speeding vehicle crashed into a tent set up for mourners outside an imambargah in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on Sunday.

According to police and rescue officials, the incident occurred near Masjid-o-Imam Bargah Baqiyatullah on Saba Avenue in DHA Phase VI, where a majlis was underway. A Suzuki pick-up reportedly went out of the driver’s control and rammed into the tent, causing panic among attendees and injuring several people.
Darakshan Station House Officer (SHO) Rashid Ali said the vehicle suddenly veered off course before entering the gathering area. Rescue teams and police quickly reached the scene and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Mayor Murtaza Wahab later visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of those injured. He expressed concern for the victims and assured them of full support from the city administration. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and whether negligence was involved.
