PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has announced a special initiative for football fans in Karachi, revealing that all matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be screened live on a giant screen at Lyari’s International Stadium.

In a video message shared on Thursday, Bilawal said the arrangement has been made to give football enthusiasts an opportunity to watch the world’s biggest sporting event together in a vibrant and festive atmosphere. He noted that a large screen has been installed at the stadium, where every World Cup match will be broadcast live throughout the tournament.
Bilawal highlighted Lyari’s deep connection with football, describing the area as the heart of the sport in Pakistan. He said the initiative aims to bring communities together and allow fans to celebrate their passion for football without having to rely solely on television or online streaming platforms.
The announcement has generated excitement among football supporters, particularly in Lyari, which has produced several talented footballers and has long been known for its strong football culture. Fans will now be able to gather at the stadium to watch the biggest teams and players compete on football’s grandest stage.
The FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, is expected to attract billions of viewers worldwide. Through this public screening initiative, Karachi’s football lovers will have the chance to experience the excitement of the tournament alongside fellow supporters in a stadium setting.
