Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved revised business closing hours across the country, with the new timings taking effect immediately.
According to an official notification issued by the Cabinet Division and shared by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on X, the decision was made in response to longer daylight hours and increasing temperatures during the summer season.
Under the revised schedule, markets, shopping malls, bazaars, departmental stores, grocery stores, general stores, and kiryana shops will now be required to close at 9:00 PM throughout the week.
The government said the measure is aimed at improving energy management and adapting business operations to seasonal conditions. Authorities have directed all relevant stakeholders to implement the new timings with immediate effect.
