Pakistani actress and television host Fiza Ali has publicly addressed the controversy surrounding a viral clip from her morning show that sparked intense debate on social media.
The video, which showed her husband lifting her up on set, drew mixed reactions online and was widely shared across platforms over the past week.
The incident prompted the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to issue a show-cause notice to the CEO of 24 News. In its notice, PEMRA termed the on-air moment “inappropriate” and “obnoxious,” citing the remarks and gestures made during the broadcast on April 13, 2026. The regulator has summoned the CEO for a personal hearing on April 27, 2026, warning of legal action if the order is ignored.
Responding to the backlash, Fiza Ali clarified that the moment was a light-hearted family interaction and was never meant to offend viewers. She said there was no negative intent behind the clip. However, she also extended a sincere apology to anyone who felt uncomfortable or found the segment inappropriate.
The controversy has fueled a larger discussion online about on-air conduct, cultural boundaries, and PEMRA’s role in regulating content. Neither 24 News nor Fiza Ali’s husband has issued a separate public statement yet.
