The Karachi Kings’ captain and Australian batting star, David Warner, has reportedly been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) in Sydney while on a short break from the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to Australian media reports, the incident occurred in the suburb of Maroubra, where Warner was stopped by New South Wales Police and subjected to a roadside breathalyzer test. Although reports suggest that the cricketer had pulled over his vehicle before reaching a formal police checkpoint, authorities proceeded with the test, which allegedly returned a positive result for alcohol.
Following the outcome, Warner was taken into custody and transferred to a local police station, where a formal case was registered against him.
This legal development comes at a sensitive time for the Karachi Kings franchise, as Warner was leading the team in the 2026 season of the PSL. He had traveled back to Australia for a brief personal break and was scheduled to return to Pakistan by April 9 to rejoin his squad.
However, with a court date now reportedly set for May 7, there is significant uncertainty regarding his immediate availability and his future role as captain for the remainder of the tournament. While the team management has yet to release an official statement, the news has caused a stir among cricket fans.
