PSL: PCB Enforces Strict Rules on Player Meetings with Visitors

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced new rules for PSL players regarding meetings with family and friends after recent security issues at team hotels.

Reports earlier revealed that Lahore Qalandars players Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sikandar Raza allowed unauthorized visitors into their hotel rooms, violating security protocols. As a result, Shaheen Afridi was fined PKR 1 million, while Sikandar Raza stated that the visitors were his family and friends and that he was unaware of the restriction on room visits.

Following the incident, the PCB issued clear instructions to all PSL franchises to avoid such situations in the future. According to the new guidelines, any meeting with visitors must be reported at least 24 hours in advance. These meetings will take place only in designated areas of the hotel, and players are not allowed to invite visitors to their rooms or team floors.

However, close family members including spouses, parents, siblings, and children can visit player rooms, but only with prior approval from team management at least a day before.

A PCB official said the main goal of these rules is to ensure safety and smooth operations during the tournament. Franchises have been asked to strictly follow these guidelines to maintain discipline and security.

These measures highlight the importance of strong security in major cricket events like the PSL, while still allowing players limited and controlled time with their families.
