Grace Van Patten Lands First Lead Role in Indie Thriller Rubber Hut After Tell Me Lies Success

Los Angeles: Actress Grace Van Patten is taking a major step in her career, securing her first leading role in the upcoming indie thriller Rubber Hut following the success of the hit series Tell Me Lies.

Directed by Hanna Gray Organschi in her feature debut, Rubber Hut is set in 1992 Rhode Island and follows Emanuella DelVecchio, a former Pan Am stewardess who opens a controversial drive-thru condom kiosk in her conservative hometown. The film promises to explore themes of female entrepreneurship, sexual health stigma, and generational tension, combining character-driven storytelling with social commentary.

Van Patten earned acclaim for her performance as Lucy Albright in Tell Me Lies, praised for her emotional depth and nuanced portrayal. Her versatile career includes roles in Nine Perfect Strangers and The Meyerowitz Stories, demonstrating her range across both film and streaming television projects.

Rubber Hut has already generated buzz in the industry, participating in prestigious development programs such as Sundance Labs and Film Independent Fast Track. These early endorsements indicate strong potential for a successful festival run.

Production on the film is scheduled to begin in summer 2026, with additional casting announcements expected soon. With a lead role that requires both comedic timing and dramatic finesse, Van Patten is poised to solidify her status as a rising star in the indie film world.
