Journalist Irshad Bhatti has publicly responded to the controversy surrounding actress Meera leaving his podcast interview midway, offering his side of the story and clarifying the circumstances behind the incident.
According to Bhatti, the interview had been scheduled well in advance, but Meera postponed the session multiple times despite prior commitments. He emphasized that the podcast appearance was a paid engagement, and his team ensured that all of Meera’s conditions and requirements were fully met before the recording took place.
Addressing the criticism circulating online, Bhatti stated that the so-called “inappropriate questions” were not a central part of the discussion and were only brought up toward the end of the interview. He further clarified that these questions were not new or unusual, as similar topics had been discussed with Meera in her previous media appearances.
Bhatti also revealed that Meera had been informed beforehand that the conversation would include both professional and personal aspects of her life. He maintained that there was no breach of agreement from his side and that the format of the interview was clearly communicated in advance.
The incident has since sparked debate on social media, with opinions divided over the boundaries between personal and professional questioning in celebrity interviews, as well as the expectations set prior to such appearances.
