Lyari’s story is now ready to be shared with the world. After a long wait and several delays, “Mera Lyari” is finally set to premiere, bringing a powerful narrative from Karachi’s Lyari to an international audience. The film is being seen as Pakistan’s response to the Indian film “Dhurandhar”, adding a new dimension to the regional cinematic landscape.

Executive producer Ayesha Omar has confirmed that the film will debut at the UK Asian Film Festival, with a special screening at the British Film Institute on May 2. This international premiere highlights the growing global reach of Pakistani cinema.
The film stars Ayesha Omar, Dananeer Mobeen, Samiya Mumtaz, Nayyar Ejaz, and Adnan Shah Tipu, among others. It follows the journey of young girls from Lyari who chase their dreams through football, showing determination and strength despite social and economic challenges.
Mera Lyari tells a story of resilience, passion, and hope. By challenging societal barriers and focusing on empowerment through sports, the film aims to leave a strong impact on global audiences before making its way back to Pakistan.
