Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has urged parents to take extra precautions to protect their children and avoid leaving them unattended. Speaking in the wake of the tragic Sargodha incident, she emphasized that ensuring children’s safety should be a top priority for every family.

Referring to the case, Maryam Nawaz said the young girl had gone alone to a nearby shop, where she was allegedly murdered by the shopkeeper, who later hid her body. Calling the incident deeply heartbreaking, she stressed the need for greater parental awareness and vigilance to help prevent such tragedies.
The chief minister also revealed that investigators were able to identify the suspect after discovering a small bloodstain on the child’s slipper, which became a key piece of evidence in the investigation. She said she immediately took notice of the incident and directed law enforcement agencies to arrest the accused and ensure that the case was investigated thoroughly.
Maryam Nawaz reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to bringing those responsible to justice and urged parents to remain alert whenever their children leave home. She said that protecting children requires collective responsibility from families, communities, and the authorities.
