Punjab Chief Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) MPA Hina Pervaiz Butt has said that the perpetrators of crimes against innocent children deserve no leniency, following developments in the murder case of eight-year-old Muntaha Zahra in Sargodha.
In a statement shared on social media, Hina Pervaiz Butt said, “Justice has been served. This is a clear message to anyone who dares to harm an innocent child: there will be no mercy, no escape and no compromise.” She said the government remains committed to ensuring justice for victims and taking strict action against those involved in such crimes.
Muntaha Zahra, 8, was found murdered after going missing in Sargodha. The case sparked outrage across Pakistan and led to widespread demands for the arrest and punishment of those responsible. Police alleged that the young girl was sexually assaulted and killed by a shopkeeper.
According to law enforcement officials, the main suspect in the case was later killed during a police encounter. The incident drew significant public attention, with many viewing it as a major development in the investigation.
The tragic death of Muntaha Zahra has reignited calls for stronger child protection measures and swift justice in cases involving violence against children. Government officials have vowed to continue efforts to ensure the safety and security of children across Punjab.
