Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has taken legal action against religious scholar Allama Nasir Madni, serving him with a legal notice worth Rs190 million over remarks she claims were defamatory and damaging to her reputation.
According to the notice, which was issued on June 17, 2026, through her lawyer, Advocate Adnan Ehsan Khan, the actress has objected to statements allegedly made by Madni on online platforms. The notice states that the comments were harmful to her personal and professional image and caused reputational damage.
Momina Iqbal has demanded that Allama Nasir Madni immediately withdraw the statements, issue a public apology, and remove the disputed content from all platforms where it was published. The legal notice has also given him one week to comply with these demands.
The actress has further warned that if the requested actions are not taken within the specified period, she reserves the right to pursue further legal proceedings and seek compensation through the courts.
The matter has attracted significant public attention on social media, where discussions continue regarding freedom of expression, public accountability, and the protection of individual reputation. As of now, no official response from Allama Nasir Madni regarding the legal notice has been made public.
